When the Romans first came to Britain the main use for poultry was sport. Cockfighting was eventually banned in Britain in 1849, but the birds continued on into exhibiting. The breed is naturally fit and hardy with strong muscles and close, hard feathering. The main attribute of Game is its courage, which unfortunately means they all want to be boss, and fighting is common amongst them. With centuries of breeding and exhibiting there are now over 30 standard colours to choose from.
